Suggestions for the Future

Of course no design project is every truly complete. We challenge future teams to use our story and work to create an even better STEAM toy. If you choose to continue improving our 3D Maze design, here are some of our suggestions on improvements.

1. Thread screws from the outside

This will make the assembly process much easier.

2. Use a material that allows for more color

This year we used Delrin which cannot be dyed and is not easy to find in colors other than black or white. The kids were constantly telling us that they wanted more color in the toy.

3. 3D print rubber gaskets and shock absorbers

This will help with the impact resistance of the toy overall and will also be an easy way to seal the toy without using a solvent.
But most importantly, have fun designing and iterating like our team did! We love our work and hope you enjoy reading and following our story!
