Purpose
The purpose of outreach events were to optimize our design ideas by interacting with the target audience, which were children ages 4-10. We visited Children's Hospital Colorado, Ryan Elementary, Bal Swan Pre-School and CU Science Discovery. We spent over 25 hours each semester, interacting with these kids and gathering information that we could implement into out design.
At these events, we organized activities for the kids to do. Our main activity was we had each kid design their ideal toy. We took these ideas and trends that we saw and incorporated them into our design. We also held surveys and questionnaires, and integrated the results into our design as well. On top of all of these activities, we were able to receive feedback from academic professionals on our ideas and designs.
